About The Tribe
The Comanche resided in the Great Plains. The Comanche tribe was nomadic, meaning they moved around a lot. This is why they lived in tepees, which were light to carry around. The reason they were nomadic is because they followed the buffalo, which is their most precious resource. They were fierce and ruthless in war. They believed in their main god, the Great Spirit. The Comanche tribe did not celebrate many things or get together a lot, but they did a thing called the Beaver Ceremony to heal a tribe member. At the Beaver Ceremony, the Comanche did a special dance. The kids played a game called the bone game, which is a big favorite. Today there are roughly 14,000 Comanche people. They are doctors, nurses, lawyers, farmers and much more. The Comanche are working to build a better future.
